More Details about Jesus . . .

Jesus is God’s Unique Son

  • “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son,                                                      that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life”                                              (John 3:16 NASB1995).

Jesus “is the image of the invisible God”(Col.1:15)

  • Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me?” (John 14:9b-10a).

  • “He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature,” (Heb. 1:3a).

Jesus is the Firstborn

  • Jesus is “the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. . . .” (Col. 1:15b-17).

Jesus is the Christ/Messiah

  • “He said to them, ‘But who do you say that I am?’ Simon Peter replied, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.’  And Jesus answered him, ‘Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven’” (Matt. 16:15-17).

  • “The woman said to him, ‘I know that Messiah is coming (he who is called Christ). When he comes, he will tell us all things.’  Jesus said to her, ‘I who speak to you am he’” (John 4:25-26).

Jesus is Lord and Teacher

  • “You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet”  (John 13:13-14).

Jesus is the Light of the World

  • "Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, 'I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life'” (John 8:12).

Jesus is the Crucified One

  • “Pilate said to them, ‘Then what shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?’ They all said, ‘Let him be crucified!’  And he said, ‘Why? What evil has he done?’ But they shouted all the more, ‘Let him be crucified!’” . . . . “And when they had crucified him, they divided his garments among them by casting lots” (Matt. 27:22-23, 35).

  • “For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins” (Heb. 10:4).                      “. . . we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

And every priest stands daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices,                       which can never take away sins. But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice                     for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God” (Heb. 10:10-12).

Jesus is our Ransom

Jesus is the Holy One

Jesus is the Sinless One

  • “Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus,                 the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are,   yet without sin” (Heb. 4:14-15).

  • “We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.  For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” (2 Cor. 5:20b-21).

Jesus is the Risen Lord

  • “And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel. And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, ‘Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise.’” . . . . “The Lord has risen indeed” (Luke 24:2-7, 34).

         to us a son is given;

Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isa. 9:6).
